It had nothing to do with the running of events...
Check out the posts I wrote on Web2Ireland during this ordeal - I was on a skype call with Sam throughout all of this so I'm pretty close to what went on. http://www.web2ireland.org/ Paul, I was quoting Mike Arrington's given reasons, to wit:
"The actions that finally resulted in his dismissal were additional comments he wrote on that second post, announcing “that TechCrunch UK will be doing a series of seminars and a conference next year as well as a series of smaller meetings in conjunction with friends & partners which have been in the planning for sometime now.”" As I said, I didn't understand that - why bugger up perfectly rational biz dev stuff with some good people. As you can imagine, the discussions at the Mashup tonight advanced a number of other possible reasons.... Alan,
You're going by what Mike said. His reasons have nothing to do with the events that you talk about as he has highlighted them in the past on TechCrunch. Sam was fired because he refused to delete Loic's original comment. Mr. Arrington is a little trigger happy with the delete key. Hi Paul
That was what I was obliquely referring to with my comment about the menagerie a trois.... Anyway, Mike Butcher has now outlined a detailed rebuttal in his open resignation letter which I have linked to above |
