I have nothing to add on the Yahoo/ Microsoft/ Uncle Tom Cobbley and all merger / takeover etc (see Techmeme for the saga in
glorious Geek-o-color here) apart from that I heard fellow blogger Paul Kedrosky oon BBC Radio 4 as I woke up this morning. After recovering from the shock of not being able to turn off the non-podcast on the radio, I noticed he said somethig rather interesting, ie that this was the first time Wall Street logic (ie hostile takeovers etc) had come into the Valeey's "Buddy Network" system.
(On reflection, not sure what the Oracle / PeopleSoft one was).
I pinged Paul on what he thought the outcome was, he reckoned capital would win. I suspect he's right. Anyway, it just reminded me that this was no longer really a New Economy game, this is all about elephants (proto-dinosaurs?) mating.
(PS he has a rather funny
Perils of Pauline take on the whole affaire here - wish he'd done that on Radio 4
