foyles is ok but they have big notices up saying "you can't sit here" if you wish to use the wifi and you end up cramped on about 2 stools looking out of the window or standing up when i've tried it.
nice juice and the musics good tho.
My flat in shoreditch has great free wifi from unsecured networks in the same building.
In Fitzroy St and Charlotte St behind Goodge Street Tube there as many unsecured networks as you need.
Best coffee at the pizza place on the corner of Goodge St and Charlotte St
There used to be a wifi hotspot called streetnet or "the technology mile", running from Angel tube station, along upper street to Highbury & Islington tube, then down Holloway Road to Odeon cinema.
Islington council and Cityspace (the technological experts who run streetnet) can't stop blowing their own trumpets about it even though it generally doesn't work, even if you are standing directly under one of the nodes. Phoned Cityspace many times trying to figure out why they can't get it to work, they didn't seem to understand and said things like "have you enabled the wireless in your pc?". Cityspace couldn't run a piss up in a brewery. |
