I think thats all good and social media is already driving industry innovation and just as or more importantly its pace. Changes in certain areas are happening 100's of times faster than would have previously. Not just slightly increased pace but innovation, change tweak change again more innovation and rippling all the time around the world. I think its amazing.
I think its silly not to recognise the socialogical and think of it as just a business tool. Some of the most common tweets/posts are surely along the lines of "I reckon this" which is a great way of getting a point of view out there. And what I call the Napoleon Dynamite "nunchuk skills" its that post when people come online and go "gooosh its been such a long day Im such a bad boy ninja teacher am so tired you know been teaching so many more students than you today, yep. Sure am tired from being so popular" Apart from "hey buy my stuff its great these are really common psots and I dont think its a bad thing at all its an opportunity for self expression. For me and people I speak to even with twitter clients etc its the time social media sucks that is going to be a long term problem. Greg p.s. I have randomly posted here because I think ur patchwork elephant is an insanely good analogy
Yeah I rather like the Patchwork Elephant:
(i) Its the big unmentioned in the room (ii) We have to feel around it to see it (iii)Its not a simple thing, its a patchwork of different technologies |
