Hi Alan, this is a reasonable analysis. Facebook could have cut costs -- or whatever -- in order to make this sort of announcement. My guess is that they, didn't, but we shall see.

Fred - the cynicism is mainly tongue in cheek, I hope you realise - hence the smiley.
Also, Broadstuff's schtick includes a bit of snark and Facebook is such a great target given the things its done in its past (The T&C, Beacon, the 100 years etc). I guess I was also counterweighting everyone else who was taking the "its all wonderful" line without looking at how FCF works (I note some people don't even know the difference between cashflow posititive and profitable). Plus it is my observation that a company leading up to an IPO is somewhat motivated to massage the message |
