Well, if one were to believe Scoble and Louis Gray, it's over and FriendFeed is the new action place.
Sadly, FF is rather lame, and difficult to sell the benefits of without explaining complex filtering. And most people find the best way to filter is to not follow thousands of complete strangers, rather than learn a new tool. It would be interesting to compare Twitter's user-profile with Facebook. Do you think that's where the under-24's are?
I don't think Friendfeed is the next thing, it has too high a signal to noise ratio in my experience, and requires lots of learning to tweak as you note.
If my own Yoof are anything to go by, the Teens and collge kids are on Facebook or using MSN (in terms of sheer hours used IM chat trumps everything) |
