And you've digested the grok sourcecode; gosh! I only ever came to sci-fi from the cyberpunk side: Neal Stephenson (who I got to meet in 97 when I interviewed him for .net) and William Gibson, mainly. Plus, having read most of the Ian Banks canon in order to interview the author a coupla times back in my journo days, I've checked out some Ian M Banks too. No Pratchett, Philip Dick or any of the more obscura 60s stuff you or others of the alpha IT/geek fraternity are wont to drop into posts. Will see if I can get an extract of Heinlein to read though.
