Let's hope so.
I think social action has been brewing within social media for a while - I posted on 'the evolution of social action networks' way back (http://www.internetartizans.co.uk/social_action_networks) and 2008 saw some nice innovations (http://twitter.com/socialactions). Starting with the Crunch would follow the community action strategy of someone like Saul Alinsky (http://www.internetartizans.co.uk/best_nonprofit_social_web_2007). And a stirring sense of this being the new startup strategy was nicely penned by Umair Haque in 'An Open Challenge to Silicon Valley' http://discussionleader.hbsp.com/haque/2008/04/an_open_challenge_to_silicon_v.html. dan |
